A sad death for Gertie

We shot a crow last year for killing a chicken with water belly if people in Africa can kill a lion for eating their cattle I can kill a raven for killing my chickens.

Sure you can. It's just that your local Game Warden may not see it that way, nor the judge hearing your case. But, you're gonna do what you're gonna do. I'm not going to argue with you about it.

I don't mean to argue but your right and I will not kill a raven with out a dam good reason plus really the subject went from a dead bird to a raven/hawk but really it was not a bird it was a gray fox and she was legal so sorry for me continuing a non-existent subject

I hope you understand the whole reason we got in to this is because I was morning the loss of a well loved chicken and I was very frustrated with the fact that one of my kids basically was murdered and kids are worth more than anything in this world. I treat my chickens like family so please understand where I am coming from.

As I said, I'm glad you got the fox. I also understand your wanting to protect your flock with deadly force if necessary. It has been used here, too. I'd just hate to see you get in trouble by shooting a protected bird. Many chicken keepers feed crows and try to attract them because they can be a help in keeping hawks at bay.
