My son's school is taking part in a Scots poetry competition in a few weeks time and my son came home with a poem to learn for it. I thought I would share. I'll post a translation later if you need it!!
"Jock an Jean"
Jock an Jean
A pail atween
Went tae the well richt cheery
Till wee Jock stummelt,
An doon he tummelt,
An Jean went tapsalteerie!
Wee Jock sat
An roared an grat
Said Mither, "Whit's the maitter?
Ye've dunt yir croon?
Ye puir wee loon,
A kiss'll mak it better"
Jean's braw dress
Wis sic a mess -
She'd landit in a puddle
"Ye've tears an aw?
Then come awa,
We'll stap them wi a cuddle".
