A single pair senario-

I'd order hatching eggs from a couple of different breeders, and cross the sexes, creating family group lines that are not inbred. If you have three family groups, that should be sufficient to produce eggs and food and still maintain good stock for replacement purposes.

That's basically my plan personally. Establishing a baseline of two breeding groups, hatch from one and keep the best hens to add to the other group as replacements and then hatch from the other group and so on. I would plan on ordering eggs to replace just my roo every few generations to introduce new blood but still maintain what I'm selecting for in the hens. Once I have more room that would expand to more breeding groups to cross between.
