A space issue, or not?

I do have delaware chicks in there. I thought about removing the delawares but then i run into the problem of where to put them. I am out of room. I tried to put henry back in yesterday after some blu kote and the delawares were on him immediately. So I had to take him out again. Do you think that I can put the pecked birds in with the others and remove the delawares? Do you think that the others would peck the injured ones, even after some blu kote?

I'm glad the blu-cote is helping. Perhaps you could put the hospital cage in the coop. Or use some wire to make them their own area in the coop for a few days while they heal. Then just take to wire down and let them back together.

BeckaLa,
That is a good idea, I would have to rig something up in the coop. I will try to think of a way to do that. I just wish that the delawares werent so agressive. They may end up in a pot of soup yet. I told my husband at the beginning of this, that if there were mean hens that they would end up dinner. I would really hate to get rid of them, I will wait and see what happens.

I had to put my four Delawares in a dog kennel and keep them there for two weeks till the others were healed enough. When they went back in, the others turned on them and were better at defending themselves. What the heck is going on with these Delawares and their temperament?

I would like to know what is up with the delawares as well. In their description it doesnt say that it is a gentle bird like the others that I ordered. I originally wanted light brahmas so that I could have lights and buffs, but they didnt have any lights so they suggested the delawares instead because of the similar color patterns. I am kinda wishing that I had gotten something else now. I call them Betty, Bertha and Beatrice. I am sorta attached to them now but they sure can be curious and it hurts when they try to eat the freckles on my arm. I am still thinking that I should take them out and try the hurt ones in with the general population. What do you think?

Did you both get your Delawares from the same breeder/hatchery? Maybe it's a line problem rather than a breed problem. (Well I can hope, can't I?)
