This morning I went Outside to greet my flock as they were outside our front door, I noticed something strange on the edge of the driveway and found this egg

I haven't seen anything like this before, no shell only a calcium dusting, and the little cord thing attached to the bottom
My girls have nesting boxes and spots outside their shed they like to hide their eggs
More about the hens
On our land my flock has about 5 acres of free range land on our (recently retired dairy now) steer farm and have plenty of access to corn, oats, and soy protein pellets (and whatever else they can forage) on occasion they get fresh fruit and vegetable treats (watermelon is the favorite) and every now and then we throw out scraps for the cats that they will join in on eating them
I only have two hens that lay brown eggs so they are my suspects, both are turning 5 this summer

First up is torchick my red star hen and my tamest, loves anything you hand feed her even if it is just normal feed. Her eggs typically are brown and slightly larger than everyone else's

next is Aurora my barred rock, she is also pretty tame and my broodiest. Her eggs typically are brown with some light- mild speckling

I haven't been able to find either one of their eggs recently, besides one of auroras about a week ago. I do a whole farm combover looking for eggs and any new nests every few days

Any advice as to what might be going on?

No regular chicken ration?
Might be missing essential calcium and the vitamins/minerals, amino acids need to uptake and disperse it.

Oh, and....Welcome to BYC! @Spikerse

Sounds like you have a soft shelled dragon egg Its what the eggs with those odd growths on them are called.) Wierd but still edible.

Thank you for the welcome,(sorry for the belated reply)
I used to always offer at least one feeder of egg layer feed and another of just mixed corn wheat and soy pellets in the shed that their nesting boxes are and where there roost, but they never ate all that much of it (roughy 9 hens and 2 roosters at that time if my memory is correct) I found myself throwing out quite a bit of feed when cleaning the feeders so I stopped offering it. I am getting some oyster shell tonight and will offer it tomorrow.
Also, I have now updated my location for future reference
