My six year old Blondie (not sure of her breed just that she is a chubby beautiful blonde) has been laying a perfect litle light brown egg every other day.. all of a sudden today her egg had some rather strange brownish speckling..is that unusual?

Is that the scientific explanation? 😳
I mean, is there really a spray-nozzle type apparatus inside a chicken blasting pigment all over the egg just before it exits the cloaca? I'd dearly love to see what's actually going on in the Body & Paint Dept. In there!

Hahaha! That's my terrible "Well little Timmy, I think this is how it works?" explanation. That or I'm traumatized by clogged inkjet printers.

No worries, just me giving you a hard time. An anatomy lesson here really would be ... er, a blast .... (🙄), wouldn't it? Wonder if the color part shows up in that beautiful graphic that shows how the egg is formed? Who has that?

It's the chicken equivalent of when you have a printer where the ink nozzle clogs up, and then after a lot of prodding and clean cycles it suddenly explodes ink.

Harmless, but I've always liked the look of speckled eggs.
Thank you this also made me laugh..
