If the layer is a new layer, its perfectly normal.

I have also gotten longer eggs from older layers and ones that have not layed in a while.

Often times a torpedo shaped eggs may be a double yolk.

This is completely normal.

I, too, have gotten dozens of these throughout the years, but generally from pullets.
