Take two hula hoops, some plastic poultry netting and four -3/4" x 3/4" pieces of pine about 35" long. Attach the pine to the first hula hoop with screws so that they are 90 degrees from each other. Flip it over and attach the next hula hoop the same way. Now take some 36" poultry netting and wrap it around the hoops fastening it with cable ties at the top and bottom and at the seam. You now have a little corral to put the chicks out in the grass. On step further would be to put the netting on the top! I used this today.

Simple yet very light-weight and portable! Just throw a towel over it for shade, tie some rope at the bottom and you can pull it along and the chicks will follow. As if they had a choice!
