A very interesting article about cancer

I always go to snopes to check out things like this. Most, like this article, are untrue.

Snopes did not say it was "untrue." Snopes just said that it did not originate from John's Hopkin's. It may not be "true" but I absolutely believe these kinds of lifestyle changes would benefit your immune system and in turn fight disease. People are not supposed to be eating genitically modified foods, complex carbohydrates, tons of sugar and even worse.. fake sugar. Our digestive system hasn't evolved much in the past 100 years. Think about your grandparents and what they grew up eating and then think about what we eat.

Most things that come in a box are difficult for our body to digest and accept nutrition from (if there is even nutrition in it). The best thing to do is shop the outer isle in the grocery store. Make REAL FOOD

What is true is that scientists believe this may be the first generation of youngsters to be outlived by their parents.

Absolutely eating a healthy diet can help you fight that disease (and many others). The thing is, you shouldn't wait until your are ill to start eating that way.

I wholeheartedly believe that most people eat too much processed sh*t and this has an enormous impact on you physically. You are what you eat! And quite a few ingredients found in processed stuff can not be readily digested by the body. It also doesn't help that we are surrounded by loads of chemicals inundating our bodies on a constant basis. In our shampoo, our carpets, our air, our makeup, everything.

you wouldnt believe the crap they used to put into food..lead, glass, etc. it wasnt all healthy and unadulterated.
everyone is so up in arms about living a "healthy lifestyle" but we are living longer than ever and are healthier as well.

Definitely not a cure but would be great advice in addition to chem and rad therapy for a cancer patient.

I think nutrition can play a role in cancer risk but it's more directly associated with heart disease and diabetes(type II).

I think if everyone eliminated processed foods we'd all be much healthier. Just that one step is huge - and more difficult than you think!

In regards to infectious diseases we are healthier. With chronic diseases we are not.

People are living longer because of a huge jump in the medical industry. Diseases can be cured/prevented where people used to die from just about anything. Diptheria, pertussis and things of that nature are all but gone because of vaccinations (a whole other story I won't bore you with:) Sanitation has improved dramatically. We no longer live in situations that can breed the black plague.

People used to eat to survive like any other creature on this earth. Now we live to eat! And there are companies making huge profits from making food taste its absolute best... tweeking our taste buds and encouraging us to eat and eat and eat. My father weighed almost 350 lbs. at his largest. ..had a quadruple bypass at 47. My brother lives off of mac & cheese and doritos and isn't thicker than a fence post. He can hardly lift his own piddly body.

I have seen what this modern diet does to people.

eat: as I type while shoveling down Ben & Jerry's Mission to Marzipan

Johns Hopkins actually published a rebuttal to this email. Of course everyone needs to eat more healthy and more natural and less processed foods.

The rebuttal simply states that tradtional medical treatments of cancer do work most of the time and further research is ongoing for what other things could work... doesn't say anything about what a healthy diet high in nutrition and antioxidants/low in chemicals and processed crap could do for a for a body fighting cancer.

Surprise Surprise!!! Medical doctors saying medicine works! I swear. I think they would like to see us all on some little blue pill

I think the folks at John's Hopkins are way too smart to rebut the actual statement and FACT in the mystery email in question.
