A video my ducks love Tomato

Omg the videos are hilarious! My ducks don't ever get that excited over food. Well the pekin does over mill worms. I gave them part of a watermelon and they just looked at me like what are we suppose to do with that. They did try it but when the watermelon moved a little they jumped back and wouldn't go around it any more.

They reminded me of dogs jumping for the grapes. Do you feed them whole grapes? My ducks weren't that impressed with them either but they did try them. I cut them up and no more then they eat it really wasn't worth my effort.

We feed them both, whole and cut up grapes. When they were small it was only cut up grapes but then once we brought the whole grape cluster in to feed them and it dropped, they went mad for it. We learned then that they didn't care if it was cut or not. I prefer cutting them still though watching a whole grape buldge slide down makes me a little nervous. The Pekins I don't worry so much about but the cayugas are still a little smaller so I'll break it apart for them. They jump for bananas too :D I suggest if serving watermelon do it as a whole piece cut in half and a little at the bottom so it doesn't rock around and just leave it there. They will need to get familiar with the watermelon before they go near it or at least mine did. My ducks really enjoy licking the juice of the watermelon. I have yet to try mill worms sounds fun!

Great idea about a little off the bottom to keep it flat. I cut 1/4 and layed it on its side so it really wasn't rocking around. My family loves watermelon and was not happy when the ducks wasted so much so I might try just cutting up some the next time to make sure they are going to eat it. I left the watermelon out for a long time, but they just waddled away and never even came back to it.

I think my mallards are even smaller so I will stick to cutting them up I guess. I only give them grapes when we have had them awhile any ways because they really don't seem to like them either. The mallards are even pickier then the pekin they really don't even care about snacks. I usually give the mill worms to George when putting her up at night and I never see them even eating any. She will follow you any where when you have a bag of mill worms, but I haven't found a snack yet that really excite the mallards.
