A warm up is coming!!

Finally after this brutal winter in Ohio, we are expecting temperatures in the upper 30s and upper 40s!

we haven’t had any temps above freezing for months! I’m so excited for my ducks to get out of the barn a little more. Happy news!

(I really need to get a life, lol)

23° and snowing here today but, it feels like a tropical heatwave after the subzero crud we had going on!

We are also expecting a warm up. I think two days in the next two weeks are forecast to get over 40 degrees F. I’m also hoping I can get my crew to venture out of the barn to do more than swim. Some sunlight would be good for them! That being said, it may be warmer, but I think it’s going to be cloudy or snowy almost every day. Ah well. I’m just happy to be out of the negative temperatures!

I completely understand! The chickens were so happy to have temperature above 20°F yesterday, they were happily talking! This week, we are also above 30°F during the day.
Signs of Spring coming?!?!

I like to think spring is coming but the only signs here are the longer days. Still below freezing every day, and another 15cm/6 in of snow today.

We're in Maine. My wife has to keep reminding me the ducks are going to love the 40s we are expecting starting tomorrow (after .5" of rain tonight). I'm mourning, however. I adore winter, and I know all that snow our my window will likely be gone tomorrow. But, yes, thee ducks will be jazzed!

Going to be close to 40 F here for the next couple of days! My ducks spent the last 2 weeks closed up in the barn and are glad for some more space.

I actually like winter as well, and enjoy the changing seasons. If you are going to live in an area that get snow on a regular basis, best thing is to learn to enjoy it. Bundle up and get out there. I find it fun to go out with my snowshoes on with my dog while he romps through a fresh fall of snow.
