The three girls started laying on Jan 2-4 of this year.
Blue - She was a consistent layer, taking a day off a week or so until she molted and hurt her wing and then lost her in May.
Cadbury - She was like Blue - took a day off here and there and when she molted, she stopped laying for a long time. Didn't have blue eggs forever! She has started laying again last month and I think I've had an egg a day from her since then.
Ally - She has been the egg laying queen. Late this fall she decided to start laying wherever she wanted NOT in the duck house though. So we had to BUY eggs!!! Then she molted and stopped and then went back to laying in places to keep them well hidden. Cadbury was her lookout and distraction to keep me away from where ever she might be. I played along - I had an idea of where Ally was, but she hid herself well most of the time. The dogs usually found the eggs first or I'd find them days later and was no longer interested in those eggs. In all, Ally has easily laid over 300 eggs this year.
