Abandon coop!!

Regarding external parasites, you need to check their roost area and coop as well as the birds themselves.

Red Mites hide in the cracks and crevices of the coop and only come out to feed on the bird at night. You would not see them in a visual inspection of the bird during the daytime. They might having varying degrees of skin irritation, but you would not see the mites.

You may see signs of them under the roost--wipe down the perch and cracks with a white cloth in the morning. If it stains with blood them you just squished some well-fed mites.
