Feed store had someone bring in a baby duck. They didn't want it so we took it home. Tried feeding it chick food and water she wasn't interested. Mix some warm water with it and she'd nibble a little. We have a great lamp on for her and she's alert but only has pooped once and falls over to her left. Any advice pls....

Did they say where the duck came from? Any chance you can post a picture more in focus so we can try to tell if it's actually a domestic duck or not? Wild duck ducklings can be much much harder to care for and get to eat, and if it's not a domestic, it should be handed off to a wildlife rehabber to raise.

I'm getting a pic now and my mom volunteers at our wildlife sanctuary and they're saying a mallard??? But, she can't poop, have been letting her in warm water and gently running off the hardened poop and now it's slowing coming out

They had a man drop her off saying she was alone on the side of the road????

I didn't realize my daughter and I are on the same site asking questions 😊

That is a baby wood duck - and that's why you're having trouble getting it to eat. Any chance you have any other ducklings or even chicks that could be its 'teaching' buddy? Also try it with some live mealworms.

Sounds like she was pasted up too, so good job getting that cleaned off - keep an eye on it, it tends to come back for awhile until it finally stops.
