ABCESS??

This morning my wife noticed an area of raised feathers on one of my RIR chicks (5 weeks old). I was able to lift the feathers and noticed what looked like an abcess or boil or some other infected bumb. Is there any ointment or anything I can do?

Pretty tough to do as I would need 3 hands. One to hold one to lift feathers and one to take picture. I was hoping there was some kind of "wonder salve" out there that might help? Neosporin??

*How large is the absess, compared to a dime??? Does it have a 'head' on it??

about the size of a small blueberry. I dont see a head but there is a red spot on the surface and a bit yellow(pussy?)underneath. It is hard.
