Goldie has an enlarged abdomen, soft with fluid, very tender to touch.
Walks with a waddle to accommodate.
Got to the point of my attention with the waddle and now is not able to fly up to the roost.
Which means she sleeps on sugarcane mulch, hence now some dirt on her rear vent.
She's taking time out.
Sometimes I see the rise and fall of her chest feathers /breathing, unlike the other hens.
No laboured breathing, and gasping.
Her comb is red and upright.
Feathers clean, bright and her body is upright except weighed down from the breast bone to tail. (poor darling).
She is taking food, but have to protect her meal times, as hen no 2. (she is no.3 of 3) loves to stand over her.
So I let either no.2 hen out and leave her in the pen with breakfast or vice versa if she is craving to get out.
She loves being with the other two around the yard, but also, chooses at times to sit in the dust of the pen.
So that has been hiding her issue, as I did not take close enough notice and early enough attention because I thought she was just taking time out.
No crop issue.
No poop issues. Smaller amounts, but normal.
Any ideas of HOPE?
Ive only monitored at this stage in this last week, and have been online here searching for answers, and had to find my login to get back in as I dont often have issues!
Thank you ahead of time.
