Cluck Cluck!
Evening all, we are a mother and daughter team (I abby 20, and my daughter Hayley 2) just about to instal our own feathered family. We currently enjoy nana and Gupa's 12 chickens (Australorp and ISA Browns) and Grannies 6-8 (Usually ISA Browns, the odd Australorp), but want our own for the time being.
We don't have a big property, but a good size for what we're doing. We have 2 worm farms already, a small garden we've planted (mainly screening plants on one side of the property as we need a new fence but our neighbours are a young student couple and I know what its like to be broke), and soon to come a small veggie patch, of things we eat lettuces, asparagus, eggplant, pumpkin, strawberry's, broccoli, and hopefully a few others.
Im hoping to have 3 chic's probably end up 2 Legbars and a Rhode Island Red. I don't share my parents dull choice of chickens season after season. We'll probably see how we go then next season incubate 3 dozen or so eggs for the whole family and force them in to verity.
Im a law student and work part time where I can. Hayley is a wonderful child, although at times troublesome, but usualy a pure delight. Always well mannered, complains of not having enough salad in her sandwich, and generally amazes me with how much I can love her every day! So if I'm not on about hens it will be my little Hayley, apologies in advance!
Hope to here from you round and about, I have been on the site for a few years, just never got around to joinging. So, here I am!
