Abnormal chick development *GRAPHIC PIC*

Incubating a practice batch of eggs, and I had one that I thought had quit. This was at halfway through day 12. I'd been watching it because it didn't look right, it had weird green stuff along the shell and no movement.

Anyway, I opened it up, and found that it was alive. It had a heartbeat, but otherwise no movement. What it did have was 4 eyes and the beginning of 2 beaks. Hopefully this pic attaches right. Ignore the scrambles, I was checking it out in a baggie before I dumped it in the bowl.

Maybe it was a double yolker, and the two chicks fused together?

Maybe, although I didn't notice a second yolk. The one "half" is SLIGHTLY smaller than the other.

I'm kinda thinking it tried splitting into identical twins, but didn't finish. Although kinda gross, I thought it interesting and kinda cool in a strange way.
