Hello,
I have 3 bovin brown, 6 Playmouth barred rock hens and one rooster. The playmouth are the youngest but have been laying for several weeks at one egg per day per hen in general. One or two of my eggs always come out paler, or with raised spots and even wrinkled once. Everything I read says too much calcium or vitamin D yet they all eat the same layer feed and I do have available to them oyster shells. Could one of them be eating too much of the oyster shell? I always read that they would only eat it if they needed to. Here is a picture of one such egg from yesterday. As further info, I have one layer that is late. Everyone layes by noon and this one takes until supper time sometimes to lay her egg. Thanks
