So I work at TSC and we got a shipment of ducklings in today and I noticed one of them was having issues with drinking/eating and would begin to choke on its saliva. We generally put the sick/not sellable unless we can nourish it to health in the back…but I couldn’t just leave the little one there. I checked its mouth and rubbed its throat to see if I could find anything stuck and came up with nothing. Duckling is still running around trying to eat and drink it’s just having a hard time. If anyone knows a solution or can help I’m open to suggestions.

Sounds like sour crop to me, which is common. It's been awhile since I've had to help with that so I'm not entirely sure the remedy, but it isn't something to be overly worried about

Never heard of a newly hatched duckling having sour crop. Where have you seen this?

I guess the last time I saw it in a duckling she was a few days old, so maybe that had something to do with it? Someone picked her up wrong right after he finished eating and she spat up just like what was described.
