? about bedding

I was wondering if I could use left over material to put over pine bedding instead of paper towels and would it be ok to wash with some bleach and reuse? :/Just a thought hope its not too crazy guess I am getting anxious for babies to get here 3/26

yah you could do that but i think would be better would just be some regular wood shavings or like sawdust that is what i use when i have baby chicks and ducks

I'm not sure, but I think CC uses old towels that she rinses out and then washes to use again. I guess material would work just as well.

I have used pieces of that outdoor "carpet" that is green and looks like grass and it worked great! I have 3 pieces the size of the floor of the brooder and it makes cleanup so easy... just roll it up and roll a fresh one out as you go... the chicks hardly notice! Then I take it out and hose off the poopy, spray a bit of dilute bleach solution on it, hang it in the sun to dry! Having 3 makes it possible to always have a fresh one on hand ready to go!
