About feeding for egg production

Layer feed should generally be avoided especially for the backyard flock. It's intended for commercial use in battery cages.
Layer feeds is not available in market here. I am thinking to put broiler feed but can i get egg by doing so? Only u can answer me.

You should not feed layer feed. I actually avoid it. This is why.
You can feed any feed that has between 18 and 22% protein. Don't go over 22%. Broiler, grower, finisher, maintenance, or all-flock feeds work well. Birds lay the best around 20%.
Make sure you provide insoluble (granite) grit, and oystershell, free choice in seperate bowls from the feed.
