About how many eggs can a broody cover?

I have a broody EE hen that is sitting on 7 eggs. I marked them with a pencil and take out the ones that the other hens laid. I have tried to move her before but she freaks out and wants to go back to the reg nesting box. Do the hens stay broody if when the chicks hatch you take them away? Or do they figure they hatched some chicks and they are done?

IM curious to see what these chicks will look like, half sex link half BLRW.. should be interesting and this is my first time with a broody hen

I have 2 silkies and silkies are bantam size and 1 girl is on 7 silkie eggs and the other hen is on 2 silkie eggs and 5 big RIR eggs they cover them fine!

I have a different take on this problem in my coop:

How many broodies can cover 6 eggs?

Silly girls - being broody is becoming all the rage again here.

What is a BLRW? I expect I should know, but I cannot put it together.

BLRW = Blue Laced Red Wyandotte

Very pretty bird...
