I got day old vaccinated chicks. They lived in my house for 3-4 weeks. Then on my patio for 2 weeks. Then moved to a disinfected shed with LITTLE contact with Marek's carriers possibly on my shoes at 7 weeks. I'm trying to slowly introduce them to my Marek's exposed area.

How long should I wait till I let them outside separated by a fence from my flock? Or with the flock?

Anyone have successful integrations?

I had a nightmare this summer and I am terrified to lose them.

I hope someone answers your question! I can't think of anything but maybe giving them something too boost their immune systems. Like vitamins and maybe some garlic... I might sound crazy but its just my idea. I hope all goes well with them for you!

Unless you have some wimpy breed, chickens were meant to be outdoors. Let 'em go. Vaccinated birds are protected.

I would wait at least 4 weeks after vaccination but keep in mind the vaccination is not a 100% The birds are still able to get it. The vaccination helps but no garentee.

Thanks, you all make me feel better. Red, these chicks were vaccinated and quarantined for 7 weeks .

Chickencanoe, good point. They are hardy breeds, Speckled Sussex and a Barred Rock.
