My name is Nyomi, I am originally from Washington State
and currently live in Florida
I have 4 cats Sophie, Abi, Hemingway, and Charlie. And a bearded dragon named "Sunglow". I like to read, do puzzles, make art, and of course talk/learn ALL about chickens!
I am fairly new to the poultry community.
I started my chicken journey about June 2019. I currently have 4 chickens two speckled Sussex, and 2 Rhode island reds. I also care for my boss's 8 feathered ladies when he is away.
I work at a special education day program, and have my 4 girls on the property for
theraputic/OJT (on the job training) purposes.
My favorite aspects of raising chickens are watching them grow, getting to know/figure out their personalities, taking pictures of them, and spending quality time with them.
I found BYC through Facebook recommendations from other poultry groups I follow, and have just recently learned of this fantastic group.
I have joined this group because I would like to have more insight, and learn tips on poultry. Also find creative enrichment activities to do/make for the chickens that my students and I can enjoy. And the BYC community seems very knowledgeable and willing to teach/reach out about chickens in any way they can.
