I ordered some keets from ideal and my three pearl are much bigger then my two lavender, do you think this is because they sent me the giant french guineas instead?

Hoping someone will chime in.. I know with some animals certain colors will be larger due to the selective breeding to get said color...

Cynthia found out from some place that the pearls are larger than the other colors for the most part.

really, that doesn't sound right at all, but it would explain it. I'll try to put picks up.

While we are talking about size, does anyone have any information on size and weight of your average pearl and at what age they are considered fully grown? Perhaps vs. other colored guineas or even french guineas? I've read a bunch, but it dawns on me I've never come across any specs on the them.

It's possible that your pearls are a couple of days older than your lavenders. We have both colors and in general they seem to be about the same size, with a couple of them larger/smaller than the rest of the flock.

Ask her about it, she can tell you where she found that info. BTW, Cynthia is speckledhen.

I have a pure lavender flock so I can not say one way or the other. But I do remember her talking about how her pearl was so much bigger than the other colors she had.
