Me and my family have our new chickens for about 4 months now.we move them into their new coop my husband made a 8x16 coop.we love our girls and are fun to watch each day they are starting to get their individual personality. My son said he hate this hen because she was always the last to go into the coop and most time he would have to chase her but now it his favorite hen and she always with him.well I hope to her from all of you.Glad to be part of this family

Hi, welcome to BYC!

That's good your son and the chicken made friends, that makes it easier on everyone.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice to have you here!

My husband whats to install an automatic chicken door there's no electric in the coop has anyone got one and anyone have suggestions on which on to get. Thanks

I'm fairly certain some door models use batteries. The problem with that is when the batteries die, the door won't function and the birds will either be locked in or locked out- either way could be a big problem. The ones you plug in can have power failures as well. It's something to consider if humans won't be around to notice any malfunctions.
