I have a hen sitting day 21 tomorrow - 12 eggs. Tractor Supply will have a shipment in the AM. They expect to sell out in an hour. I want to slip 6 pullets under sitting hen .... insurance that I will have pullets and I won’t keep any Roos that she’ll hatch anyway.
Question is — do I have to wait for those eggs to hatch before I slip chicks under hen?? Or can I go ahead and do it tomorrow night with hatched or unhatched eggs??? Will she continued to sit until they hatch or will 6 active chicks take her off the nest?? Thank you!!!
