Thank you! That's my wonderful guy, Suede, when he was a bit younger. I spent today taking down his pen and building him and his girls a new, much larger one. He deserves it. Next, the coop expansion! Never ends, does it, LOL? Will check in tomorrow to see how you made out with candling your eggs.

6 out of 10 look like they are doing something on candling tonight, although I didn't have a decent candler...just used the LED torch on the keyring.

6 had darker shadows, and 4 had light shadows. From previuos attempts, the lighter shadow ones did nothing. I'll rid up something to candle properly tomorrow if I get time.

Well, that's pretty good, Ed. Hope the dark shadowed one is just a bit behind-they dont always look exactly alike and in my last hatch, I had two that always looked to be not quite as developed as they should. One did hatch of those two.

Candled the eggs again and still 6 are developing and 4 are doing nothing, just a light shadow....

So for my pullets and cocerell, I have 60% fertility rate. (Pullets and cockerell are 9 months old, and the pullets started to lay on 21 june)

Now I just have to hatch them in 10 days time.
