(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We purchased our first 6 chicks in 2013. Since then, we've grown and learned...are still learning!! This year we are trying some new ideas... chicken and rabbit tractors.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have just over 50 adult layers, 3 roosters, babies coming on, turkeys, and ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
LOL we like variety in our baskets and cartons! Our main breeds are Barred Plymouth Rocks, Bielefelders, and Ameraucaunas (did I spell that right?!). To add more color, we also buy different breeds from local folks and hatcheries: Wyandottes, Legbars, Black Copper Marans, Partridge Rocks, oh gosh... I've lost track!
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
online search for chicken info. Have been referring to this site since we began. Great source for info!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
right now... LOL farming... We have Highland cattle, vineyard, orchard.
