I have made a incubating box as a mad hatch (thanks for the idea, walkswithdogs) to see what i can get from some leftover eggs that won't fit into my brinsea eco. I would otherwise throw these away. I have the brooding ceramic lamp as the heater over a polystyrene box made up of the egg boxes that the eggs were shipped in.

I'm trying to stabilise the temp before i put the eggs in. What is the absolute minimum and maximum temp that the eggs can bear without dying? I am aiming for the ideal temp but need to know the range of safety.

Thanks.

Can anyone advise?

I put the eggs in last night after moving it to a room with fewer draughts so the temps are more stable. Currently at 38c with 30% humidity. I can raise or lower the temp by adjusting the height of the lamp above. I would really like to know the safe temp limits so i work to a range and don't end up adjusting too often. Overnight it was 35.6c.i am not using a thermostatically controlled heat source.
