I am in New Jersey and have been intensively studying quail raising for the past several weeks. I don't have any birds yet because I'm determined to learn as much as I can before diving in. I've spent many hours, so far, watching YouTube videos, and reading on line articles. This is my first attempt at using a dedicated subject forum. I will probably spend a lot of time reading past threads and lurking. I am primarily interested in quails, but I'm also trying to learn what I can about Chukar Partridge and squab pigeons. I really don't have the room or the inclination to get into chickens. I will be reaching retirement age within a few more years and am thinking that raising quails might provide me with inexpensive meat and eggs, and may even allow me to supplement my Social Security income by selling a bit of each.
