I posted a few days ago with pics of my beloved Honey, and got so many nice compliments on her. Well this morning I let my girls out like I do every morning, and they were all happy to see me, and looking for their treats. When I went to go collect the morning's eggs I found Honey, dead in front of their house. It appears she had been attacked by a hawk or eagle. Her poor beautiful body was mutilated, and her white feathers were everywhere. She looks as if she had put up a good fight though. All the rest of my hens were all roosted in their house, and nervous. None of them have come out, which is not like them at all because they free-range. I can't say I blame them.....
Just wanted to share. I know that this kind of stuff happens every day, but I still can't believe it was my Honey. She was the sweetest hen, and I will miss her.
