absorbent pads

Has any one tryed those absorbent pads under the shavings in the coop to soak up the wet stuff.

Bet the chickens would have them for lunch. Sweet PDZ does well. And even if they eat some, is non-toxic.

A sufficient layer of shavings will 'soak up' the poop just fine, what other 'wet stuff' are you concerned with?

No hens yet. Just preping my self with info till the spring time. Yea thought they would chow down on it.

Then don't use them. But I do recommend having pellet type PDZ on hand. If you spill water you can place this in the area and mix it with the bedding and it helps dry the area and reduces smells.
