Wow! I don't stagger mine any where near that close! Maybe a week apart, and then it still cuts it close. I usually have at least one hatch on day 18, then there is usually one hatching on day 22, so there is very little time in between!

CONGRATS !!!

As soon as this hatch is done get your hum back down asap, and start turing again till day 18. Hopefully they are ok, that is the prob with staggered hatches !! Good luck.

I think the problem with staggered hatches is it sometimes delays the second hatch because you open the incubator to get the first hatch out and plus the other eggs get knocked around.
My humidity always goes up some when chicks hatch because they are wet and obviously it has to evaporate somewhere.

Stayed up most of the night watching eggs. Woke up to 3 more chicks. That makes 7 out of the orrigional 10 set, 2 were clear last week, one still in the bator, not pipped or anything but today is day 21 so the others hatched a day early. The chicks all look really good, all absorbed the yolk sack completely, no blood and zipped pretty easily considering I kept the humidity in the mid 60's. Everytime I opened the lid I added a little hot water so the humidity stayed even.

The remaining eggs due next Thursday have been in a paper egg carton while the hatching eggs rolled around on the wire floor. I turned them 1/4 turn this morning and will take them out later and set them under a heat lamp while I clean out the bator to get ready for the next hatch. These eggs consist of Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, more White Leg Horns, and some EE's.

you hatch like i hatch. I tried doing everything right and got terrible results. I did things a lot more haphazard and quit paying so much attention and got great results! Go figure. I must admit, the Accurite hygrometer has been my salvation. As soon as I put that thing in there and started to try a bit harder to keep the humidity and temp within a certain range, smooth sailing from there on out.

Well, we pitched the last white leghorn egg last night. All the others hatched Wed. this one had not pipped. When we opened it last night; it was fully developed and I guess that's why they are called quitters. So 7 out of 10, but 2 where clear from the get go so I'm guessing they were not fertile. 7 out of 8 hatched and are doing good. My best hatch ratio to date.

Candled the remaing 16 eggs last night, I saw movement in 3 but I'm not giving any up till next Saturday. They are mostly brown eggs and 3 green, so it's hard for me to candle with my Mickey Mouse candler - a cardboard shoe box with a hole and a light bulb behind.
