I was just wondering how long chicks need to have access to food and water 24/7? I know older chickens don't feed at night, just wondering when they made the switch.

I don't actually know when they make the switch, but my family typically lets chicks have 24/7 access until they are moved out into the coop.

If you're chicks were under a broody hen, they wouldn't eat or drink at night. If you're using a heat lamp to keep them warm, provide food and water at all times, they'll be moving around and feeding and drinking at night. If you're using something like an Ecoglow, with no light, they'll make it through the night just fine without it.
