The hen being a first timer at being a broody shouldn't effect this because you accidentally broke the egg. Did she get up and completely leave the eggs and go do other things? If so, it sounds like she knew something was wrong, but not necessarily the egg that was broke and hatched. The yolk sack being dry and it being too early for the baby to hatch, it will be a miracle if the baby survives. I'll be praying the the baby!The yolk sack is dry (some remnants in shell). You can guess from the filth of the other eggs what the box looked like and why i tried to clean it.
Broodies in the past never pooped on their eggs and made such a mess in the box. This was a 1 yr old hen and her first time going broody. Does her lack of experience play a roll?
