I received some bantam Araucana eggs on the 11th. I didn't expect them to hatch, since they had gone out on the 3rd; however, I let them sit until I decided what to do. I put the eggs into the LG incubator on Wednesday, the 13th, using egg cartons to hold them since my Hovabator still had my quail eggs in it. On the third day of incubation I completely gave up hope because the LG spiked to 104--but I kept them in anyway, since it looked as if a couple might develop.
I had added eggs from rizq sometime around the second or third day of incubating the other eggs; shortly after that, I was able to move the eggs to the Hovabator. I was figuring that today I'd take out the automatic turner and if any eggs from the first batch hatched, they hatched. Now, here it is only on day 19 for the first batch, and I have a pipped and peeping egg! My humidity was still on 35 and the turner was still in, so I quickly removed all of the eggs from the turner and I threw in extra (warm) water and warm wet cloths, to bring up the humidity. The chick is still peeping.
Did I do irreparable damage to the hatch? I hope not, since I really want them to hatch with all the *stuff* I went through with the first batch and then with the seller of these eggs.
