We purchased two 10x12 Alumi-Coops with roost system and roll out Yuneek nest box (I already had one 48” best nest box for one of them. These two are identical so I suspect same manufacturer.) I’ve accepted the trade offs between stationary coops and mobile ones. Stationary I don’t haul feed and water, but I clean. Mobile, I haul feed and water, but no cleaning. We’re going mobile for the time being. I’ll post more once the fluff nuggets are in.

Coops are together. Birds are in. 24 hens per coop and a roo in one. Assembly was simple and straightforward. I have not installed the perch poppers yet. However when I lowered them tonight I bumped a couple birds on the roost closest to the nest. I think making it 6-8” more forward. Here’s hopping for eggs in the box.

Thanks for posting! I'm looking at purchasing a 10x12 as well. How tall is it? Can't seem to find any info online. Thanks!

Can I walk into the coop or how tall is the door of the coop?

3 x 5 Coop has a 3’ door with an overall height of approx. 4’

6 x 10 Coop has a 4’ door with an overall height of approx. 5’

10 x 12 Coop has a 5’ door with an overall height of approx. 6’

A review update...

ROOST BARS -
  • We removed the roost bar closest to the nest box since when the perch popper for the nest box released, it would hit the birds, we still have plenty of roost space for the 25 we have in each coop with space leftover.
  • In the 10x12, the bars do begin to sag in the middle a bit, but we are adding a support string/rope to the center to the ceiling and that is solved.
FEED/WATER
  • I have a 10 lb feeder hanging inside the door and it is working well. Ackermans offers a 22 lb to hang and fill outside, but I haven't wanted to cut the sides at this point. Would give me a couple days worth feed if I had the bigger one.
  • Waterers are rent-a-coop on stools that I just take out and move each day. Easy enough, but I am noodling on what mobile water I want to set up. Ackermans offers one with 2 cups, but I prefer nipples and more of them.
I absolutely love these mobile coops! It's like my homemade Suscovich on steroids for layers. We are ordering 2 more for our place, just deciding on size. The coops are very pricey, but make my daily chores take little to no time at all. I can move them, feed/water in about 6-7 minutes.
