Acting strange after first egg - She had to lay another egg

Hi all,

Lady Lay laid her first egg today,

Well i needed to clean them out but the Whole time i was cleaning out the coop LL was going mad!

She was squawking her brains out and kept pecking to get back in the Eglu!

After i cleaned the coop out she ran straight back in and went in the nest box.

Is this normal?

I now know what was up with her,

She had to lay another egg

are you sure it didn't come from a different chicken. It isn't normal for a chicken to lay 2 eggs a day even though it has happened. But it might that this was her first egg the egg laying cycle isn't running correctly yet.

i think it's to do with it being her first egg

and i am 100% sure that both egg are hers (she's been hogging the nest box all day and seems alot happier now

)
