I have a Acu-Rite 00891W3 that has a sensor probe to measure outside temp.
I have mounted the outside sensor at egg height in the center of my LG still air incubator. I have also put the unit itself inside the incubator to keep a eye on the humidity (the outside probe does not measure humidity).
My concern is the outside reading is at 100 degrees but the inside reading is 104. I did test the outside sensor by placing it in a glass of crushed ice water and it read dead on at 32.

I am a bit freaked out by the 104 inside reading. Should I just ignore the inside temp reading?

Its not really valid to test a thermometer at 32 when you want it to be accurate at 100. Try comparing the probe with a glass/mercury fever thermometer in a glass of 100 degree water.
