I left a jug of ACV outside in the greenhouse where my hens are, and stopped using it awhile ago when I noticed the ACV reacted with the galvanized metal water can I was using.

But now I finally switched to the nipples in a bucket, and would like to use the ACV, but noticed after a year in the greenhouse its lost its color and a pale yellow liquid.

Does ACV go bad or change? It got full sun exposure, but since its an acid I didnt think anything like this would happen. I guess I should go get a new jug? Or is the one I have still good to go?

The mother that makes vinegar is a living community. For all the time it was stored it got no more energy they could use. Also sun light is hostile to most of those organisms. So they go into suspended animation and or die. Eventually the color is bleached out. It probably is still acidic, Bit the mother is dead or nearly. I know light is energy, but the mother has no light to energy conversion ability.

I'm not certain regarding the mother of vinegar and her energy, but ACV can go bad. There are some bacteria that can live and thrive in it. I'd replace it after that length of time. You could simply taste it.
