Ad lib or Restricted feeding???

I am in the process of finishing my coop and am wondering if giving full time access (ad lib) to layer pellets is a good thing or should I restrict the feed to early evening in the coop.
If restricted how much per bird.

Feed ad lib. You're only asking for trouble with laying hens to restrict their feed. They're not meat birds that have an appetite they can't turn off.

I haven't ever heard of anyone restricting feed.. get one of those ten gallon feeders and call it good.

I feed free choice. They will eat if they are hungry. I agree that you will only be asking for problems if you limit feeding.

Layers/breeders need feed 24/7. Meat birds is a whole 'nother story!
