I plan to give away one of my roosters in a couple weeks to someone a couple blocks away. All of my chickens are about 11-12 weeks old. Is there anything I should know about the flock adjusting? I hope my other rooster doesn't miss him too much. I'm giving away the more dominant rooster. The less dominant one is maturing much slower so far even though same age. Hopefully all chickens and roosters will remain happy. I'm going to miss him and its going to be hard giving him away. New to all this. A friend is taking my rooster which I'm grateful for being able to see him over time. 😊

I wondered if that was a possibility. Hopefully he won't get too aggressive. The less dominant one has been my favorite from the start. Which is way I'm keeping him over the other.

At this age it is a crapshoot. There is a good chance that neither rooster will work out. I agree that pulling the rooster is apt to change the other cockerel, but the pullets will be calmer. You might need to separate the one you keep till the pullets are laying. It is slwsys good to have that option set up and ready, even if you don’t need it.
