I am having trouble with squirrels stealing and breaking my ducks eggs. I've seen them climb onto the roof and sneak in any opening by the vents and door. I was thinking of adding a guard goose to the flock of 9 runner ducks since the lone mutt drake does not seem to be a deterrent. Can anyone tell me about adding geese to ducks - do they get along, will the geese integrate and protect the other fowl, is there a particular breed that would work better??? I also afraid these fuzzy tailed rats will pass vermin and diseases to my ducks.

Nope geese will just stand there and watch the squirrels go in and eat. We don't have a squirrel problem because of the dogs but chip monks hey they can sneak food anytime they want, once we even had a young possum eating out of the feed bowl in broad daylight while the ducks and goose stood and watched. They may keep flying preds at bay but not much of anything else.

You could get one those live traps and catch/relocate them. If they're in season I shoot'em, they taste pretty good fried up. Don't know if you can do that in your area.

Geese have been known to protect flocks from threatening predators, but small and seemingly harmless animals like squirrels will get by them no problem. Patching up where the squirrels are entering is your best bet.
