I have slowly introduced our 2 new "babies" to the coop over the last week. Last 2 night's have been in the coop. Today was 2nd day with no egg from Rosie, our 1 hen. Sometimes she skips a day, but could this be from the stress? She had plenty of time to get into the nest box today, while the 2 were out in the yard. I actually put her in the "condo" to give her the idea. I double checked the garden, couldn't find any eggs. Any ideas?

How old are the "babies?"

Your older hen is just taking a vacay. It is hot outside, after all.

They're about 6 weeks old, or so. And it was actually cooler yesterday and today... Who knows...

Any stressor--including increased temperatures over an extended period of time, can cause chickens to slow their laying.

Last week I got 3 eggs from 60+ chickens. Lazy freeloaders. They'll make it up this fall.

Amd she's alying this morning (as we speak), guess the stress is over....
