I think you should double the width and do something to get them off the concrete. But it is considerate to get them the run.

do what to get them off the concrete? sand? straw? wood?

the size is what i have to work with... I also plan to slim down to 3 birds at some point. I don't keep them in there all the time though.

It is true, chickens love to have something to dig and scratch in. I periodically go into my run and dig a 2 foot hole in the ground and can barely get it finished before all my birds are in under the shovel looking for bugs and other stuff.
