For a little initial investment, I took 2 of my Arlo cameras and put one inside and one outside. For those who aren’t familiar with this camera, I think these things are great. They can zoom, they have night vision and motion detection. Although I really don’t recommend the motion detection inside the coop because it would constantly be going off. But you can check in at anytime on real time, which is great. I do this on the inside for 2 reasons. To check for black snakes that might sneak in, but also I have 1 hen that refuses to use the nesting box. So I must enter every day to collect her egg which is usually in the corner. But. I like to make sure that no hens are in a box before I go in, so this is a great way to do that.(Hate interrupting a good layer). The outside camera can keep an out as well and motion detection can be set at night when they’re roosting. I really do think this is a very worthwhile investment. No monthly fees either. And no, I don’t work for them! lol
