Introduced a younger rooster approximately 18 Weeks old to my 11 hens who are 6 months old they are picking on him and I think keeping him from eating any ideas how long will this continue I got him from a friend who hatched two that were starting to fight

For awhile, I'm afraid. Young cockerels get the rough stuff from mature hens. They don't appreciate him and let him know. I've known older hens that so dominate a young cockerel that they make him shy and useless. Just sayin'. Any way you can raise him in a "see but no touch pen" next to the hens? He won't be "ready" for their maturity, most likely, for at least another month or two.

so its not good to keep young roosters with older hens?

I don't have an area set up to keep him separate and don't have the resources to make it right now. Will they let up on him after a little.
