Hello, Everyone! I've been lurking for about a month-since I got 13 RIR chicks from the local ACE Hardware store! How can a person resist those adorable little fuzzballs when all you have to do is buy a bag of feed, right? Well, I am completely hooked--on the site and on my chickens! My family thinks I've lost my mind, but they are humoring me and my wonderful husband is working on their permanent home. Thanks to all of the excellent advice I'm getting from BYC, we haven't lost any of the chicks and they are all growing well. I had no idea that this would be so much fun--I really got them because my daughter has been asking for several years to have chickens and i thought it would be nice to have fresh eggs. Well, they are my babies now!

I can see that there are probably more chickens in my future....!
